PATU Press.- From January 17 through 21, 2024, the World Taekwondo Federation has granted PATU the right to carry out this certification for new referees, as well as the refresher for active IRs.
The long-awaited seminar for the region is finally a reality thanks to the efforts that the president of PATU Juan Manuel López, the executive committee and the work team have carried out to make it possible.
It will take place at the Holiday Inn Centro Historico Hotel, in the city of Querétaro, Mexico from January 17 to 21, 2024.
“We are very happy to announce this great opportunity for applicants to be international referees from across the region, and thus continue with our tireless search to place PATU at the forefront and in pursuit of excellence that consequently leads us to be exponents to world level of the specialty,” commented Juan Manuel López, president of the continental.
The certification is launched for the first time with the novelty of allowing those who have 2nd and 3rd dan Kukkiwon to be able to take the seminar that grants them the title. This modification is exclusively applicable to all MNAs that have less than 10 active international referees in the specialty. Therefore only CANADA and USA will have to present 4th Dan certification from Kukkiwon and other countries including Mexico will benefit from the reduction in the Kukkiwon certificate requirement.
The minimum age to register for the course is 21 years old – this is calculated based on the year in which the course is held.
The cost of the seminar for new referees is USD. 400, and USD. 200 for refreshment. This according to WT regulations.
Registration must be done through the GMS platform no later than December 31st of the current year.
