Sofia, Bulgaria -July 2022- This Sunday, July 31, on the occasion of the Cadet World Championship, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the president of the World Taekwondo and Taekwondo Humanitarian Foundation, Dr. Choue and PATU president Juan Manuel Lopez.
With a clear proposal and precise objectives, Juan Manuel Lopez, president of PATU, officially signed the MOU with the Taekwondo Humanitarian Foundation, to work for the benefit of the needy in different regions of the Americas.
The signing was attended by Daegeun Kang, President of THF Asia, Angelo Cito President of THF Italy, Maria Borello Vice President of WT and PATU, and Mario Mandel Secretary of PATU.
“Juan Manuel has always been a promoter of great causes since his administration in Mexico and now through PATU I have no doubt that he will do an exceptional job on behalf of THF and those who need it most. Our intention in THF is to provide opportunities and generate help so that those who are in conditions of extreme need, have through Taekwondo a way to find a better future”, mentioned the president of WT and THF Dr. Chungwon Choue.
The project has already started in PATU and will materialize in different cities of the continent that present greater difficulties. The first will be Tijuana, Mexico, the main border with the United States and home to many children and young people with many difficulties.
“Like every project in PATU, we are already working in THF so that in September we can materialize the efforts we are already making with the whole team, I have the firm commitment to bring greater opportunities to all people who are in circumstances of risk, so that through our beloved sport and martial art they can find a path of hope,” said Juan Manuel Lopez, president of PATU.
This agreement further strengthens the ties between the Pan American Taekwondo Union and World Taekwondo, with the objective of strengthening Taekwondo and taking it to all corners of the region and the world, for the benefit of all practitioners.
